Home and School News

The Home and School Committee sells Hell Pizzas for $6.00 for lunch on the first Thursday of the month.  The next Pizza Thursday is on 2 May.

Building Project Information Meeting

A community information meeting will be held at 5.30pm on Wednesday 29 May in the old library space at Northland School.  Project managers, architects and representatives from Hawkins Construction will present information related to the project including access to the adjacent driveway and plans for the removal of low grade asbestos cladding.  A community information update is available on the Building tab.

Board of Trustees Election

An election for three parent representatives will be held on 7 June.  Nominations close on Friday 24 May and a meet the candidates meeting will be held at 7.00pm on Thursday 30 May.  For further details contact the returning officer, Julia Truesdale, at the school office.

School Closed - Wednesday 29 May

Northland School will be closed all day on Wednesday 29 May as the teachers union has called a one-day strike.  Parents and caregivers are asked to make alternative arrangements for their children for that day.

Helpfulness / Awhina

Helpfulness is being of service. It is doing useful things for people, such as things they cannot do for themselves, something they do not have time to do, or just little things that make life easier. It is important to be helpful to ourselves too, by taking care of our bodies. There are times when we need help from others. That is a good time to ask for help.
