Student Council

Each year students in Years 5 to 8 elect their representatives for the Northland School Student Council.  This group meets each week with the principal to discuss ways to raise money to support local organisations and to provide ideas to further develop Northland School.  Each week councillors visit the class they look after to report on decisions made, gain ideas and to promote upcoming events.

Student Council 2011

In April the Student Council Elections were held. Here are our councillors for this year.

2011 Student Council

In Term 2 2011 the Student Coucil raised over $1000 to support the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.  A sausage sizzle was held with over 450 sausages consumed by hungry students and staff.  A Movie Mania Day was held where student-made videos were screened and everyone came to school dressed as their favourite movie character.

In Term 3 the Student Council is supporting Government Public School Pea - our sister school in Tonga.  Another sausage sizzle was held and there will be NS Idol - Northland's own student talent show. Money raised from these two events will be sent to GPS Tonga to help provide extra resources for the school.

Term 4 activities will include the very popular ice cream day and an end of year Fun Day.
