Team 1 children are exploring paint and colour this term. At our Quality Time Together Year 1 and 2 children co-operated on an activity blending paints to create a very colourful piece of art work.
 
Cross Country RunningCross Country Running
After weeks of practice children in Years 1 and 2 were able to show parents how they have built up speed and stamina as they ran laps of Northland Park at the Team 1 cross country event. Year 1s ran 3 laps and Year 2s 4 laps with a supportive parent and student group cheering them on. Here is the final stages of the Year 1 girls race.

After their walk around Northland students in Room 2 made a giant and detailed map of Northland Community, showing houses, shops and pedestrian crossings.

As part of learning about “What makes a good community?” students in Year 1 walked around Northland Community, taking photos and talking about places they know.

During Term 2 students in Room 2 became very interested in making maps as part of our “What Makes a Good Community?” topic. They made an individual “Me on the Map” books, showing themselves on maps of their bedrooms, streets, city and country.
