Northland School Board of Trustees

Advertising Policy

Rationale:

Northland School from time to time receives requests as they relate to the community activity of the school. The Board of Trustees will duly consider the benefits advertising brings to the school and to the community on a wider scale.

The Board therefore considers advertising a useful way of providing information about education and services on a wider school community level.

Objective:

To provide guidelines as they relate to advertising for our school.

Guidelines:

  • The inclusion of advertisements, notices or flyers in the school’s publications or on its property is at the discretion of the Board;
  • The Board will consider favourably advertisements, notices or flyers with an education focus or which provide information of a community service nature.
  • In considering the above, the Board may permit such advertisements to be placed at no charge or may seek further information as it pertains to the activity before making a decision;
  • The Board takes no responsibility for the accuracy of information in advertisements, notices or flyers and does not necessarily endorse any product, service or information; and
  • The Board will not accept advertising which it deems offensive, has an adverse visual impact, is inconsistent with the school’s policies and values1, or that may alienate the wider school community.
