Equity Policy

Rationale:

Northland School is committed to equitable policies and practices for students and staff. The school will apply child-centred, needs-based approaches in order to achieve equity of opportunities for all students.

Purposes

• To establish the aim of equitable outcomes for students (and families) and staff at Northland School
• To establish guidelines to help ensure students (and families) and staff are treated equitably at school.

Guidelines

• School practices and policies will demonstrate that the school values equally the gender, culture, lifestyle and abilities of all students and staff
• Students at all levels of ability are provided with an equitable educational experience
• Each year the Principal will identify and report on strategies to support this policy
• Training and resources to support equitable treatment will be available to staff
• The school actively promotes concepts of equity to support this policy.

The Year 3 - 8 Cross Country will be held at Northland Park on Thursday 17 May. Year 3 and 4 students will be running at 1.30pm, Year 5 and 6 students at 2.00pm and Year 7 and 8 students at 2.20pm.

Numba Rumba is here! Our students are participating in a sponsored "Maths-a-thon" to raise funds for extra sporting facilities at Northland School. Our students are looking for sponsors. Can you help?
