Rationale

The Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring Northland School has up to date relevant policies to guide decision making and activities.

Purposes

To establish guidelines for the development and review of school organisation and management policies.

Guidelines

• Curriculum policy development is not part of this policy
• Organisation and management policies are reviewed by the Board on a three year cycle unless more regular review is required.
• A record of all organisation and management policies, and a chart of the review cycle, is available to students, parents and staff on request.
• If the Board, staff, students, the community or the Ministry of Education identifies a need, new policies can be developed or existing policies changed by the Board at any stage.
• The Board will make available for staff, student and/ or community comment draft policies on issues deemed by the Board to be of special interest to these groups.
